Biodiesel (Methyl esters of fatty acids -FAME)

The Testing Laboratory Directorate (TLD) is accredited to perform testing of various types of biodiesel samples, in accordance with the Ordinance quality requirements for liquid fuels, the conditions, order and manner of their control.
The testing equipment is based on modern and precise methods for quality evaluation of the fuels. All apparatus are delivered from acknowledged laboratory equipment manufacturers.
The product characteristics are determined in accordance with Bulgarian and international standards BDS, ASTM, ISO and EN.
The specific characteristics, which are used to determine the biodiesel’s quality are: methanol content, esters and glycerides. Their determination is performed using a gas chromatograph with a flame-ionization detector (GC/FID).
TLD issues a “Statement of Compliance” of products, in accordance with the Ordinance on quality requirements for liquid fuels, the conditions, order and manner of their control requirements and also the client’s technical specifications.
